Depression

According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Soutwest Bay and adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal (off North Tamilnadu -South Andhra Pradesh coasts, India) has intensified into a depression. It is centered at about (675) Nautical miles West- Southwest of Coco-Island, (765) Nautical miles Southwest of Hainggyigyun (Myanmar), (175) Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai and (160)Nautical miles East-Southeast of Puducherry(India).

It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded yellow stage.

Position of depression, center pressure and wind

            Depression is located at Latitude (11.0) degree North and Longitude (82.3) degree East, centre pressure of depression is (1002) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (32) miles per hour at (12:30) hrs MST today.

During next (24) hrs Forecast

The depression is contuinous to move West-Northwestwards and forecast to cross North Tamilnadu Coast and adjoining Sout Andhra Pradesh Coast near Channei (India) during next (24)hrs.

General caution

      Due to the depression, likelihood of scattered rain or thundershowers in Taninthayi Region and isolated in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States during (18.11.2021) to (19.11.2021). Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7– 9) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

     Due to the depression, people should be aware rain or thundershowers with strong wind and domastic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Myanmar Coasts.
