SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and Southern Shan State, scattered in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah States, isolated in Naypyitaw and Mon, Northern Shan States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were 2°C below February average temperatures in Kachin, Rakhine States and 2°C above February average temperatures in Yangon, Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Kayin States, 3°C to 4°C above February average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon, (Northern and Southern) Shan States and 6°C above February average temperature in Eastern Shan State and about February average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were 2.6°C in Hakha, 8.2°C in Pyinoolwin, 8.8°C in Namsan(Southern Shan), 9.0°C each in Myitkyina and Tiddim, 9.8°C in Putao, 10.5°C in Loilin, 11.0°C each in Machanbaw and Heho, 12.5°C in Mongyang, 12.6°C in Monyin and 13.3°C in Mingin. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.54 inches in Hmawbi, 1.46 inches in Yangon(Mingaladon), 1.10 inches in Kawthaung, 0.92 inch in Wakema, 0.87 inch in Kengtung, 0.71 inch in Kungyangon, 0.63 inch in Yagon(Kaba-Aye), 0.43 inch in Kyaungon and 0.39 inch in Taungoo(Aviation).
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay, partly cloudy over the East Central Bay and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th February 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Mon, Southern Shan States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kayin, Northern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Taninthayi Region. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States.
