SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Ayeyarwady Region, scattered in Southern Shan State, isolated in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw. Weather has been partly cloudy in Yangon, Mandalay, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kayin, Northern Shan State and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were 4°C below February average temperatures in Kachin, Chin States, 2°C below February average temperatures in Rakhine State and 2°C above February average temperatures in Yangon, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Mon, Northern Shan States, 3°C to 4°C above February average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Southern Shan State and 6°C above February average temperature in Eastern Shan State and about February average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were 0.0°C in Hakha, 6.4°C in Putao, 7.9°C in Pyinoolwin, 8.7°C in Tiddim, 9.0°C in Namsan(Southern Shan), 10.0°C each in Mingin and Machanbaw, 10.3°C in Myitkyina, 10.9°C in Mawlaik, 11.2°C each in Heho and Loilin and 11.7°C in Pinlaung. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.81 inches in Pyinmana(Walgyi), 1.34 inches in Labutta, 1.26 inches in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), 1.20 inches in Lamyethna, 0.94 inch in Taunggyi, 0.91 inch each in Ngathaichaung and Minesat, 0.87 inch in Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri), 0.80 inch in Thabaung, 0.79 inch in Kyonepyaw , 0.75 inch in Laiway and 0.67 inch each in Pyinmana and Ela.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea, East Central Bay and South Bay, a few cloud over the West Central Bay and generally fair over the North Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th February 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State and the generally fair in remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 27th February 2025:    Partly cloudy.
