SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Kachin, Kayin, Mon States and isolated in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway Regions and weather have been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C above May average temperature in Eastern Shan State, 2°C above May average temperatures in Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, (Northern and Southern)Shan States and 2°C below May average temperature in Taninthayi Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 42.6°C in Chauk, 42.0°C in Myinmu, 40.8°C in Magway, 40.6°C in Aunglan, 40.5°C each in Myingyan and Nyaunglaybin, 40.4°C in Pyay, 40.0°C each in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), Kyaukse(Lungkyaw) and Shwebo and 39.9°C in Sinbyugyun on 7-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.42 inches in Myeik, 0.94 inch in Belin, 0.91 inch in Dawei, 0.55 inch in Gangaw, 0.39 inch each in Kawthaung and Chaungsone, 0.35 inch in Ye, 0.28 inch each in Myawaddy and Thaton and 0.24 inch in Tada U(Avia-Met).
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th May 2025: Weather will be partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Kachin, Mon States, scattered in Yangon, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kayin State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-8 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States.
