SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespresd in Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Chin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon, Rakhine States, scattered in Bago Region and Kachin, Kayah,  Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States and regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay and Lower Sagaing Regions. Day temperatures were 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Eastern Shan States and 2°C above May average temperatures in Magway Region and Chin, Mon States and and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 42.5°C in Chauk, 39.7°C in Myinmu, 39.0°C each in Nyaung Oo and Nyaunglaybin, 38.8°C in Magway, 38.7°C each in Aunglan and Sinbyugyun, 38.5°C in Pakokku, 38.4°C in Myingyan and 38.0°C each in Mandalay and Kawkareik on 20-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.15 inches in Pyinoolwin(Zeepingyi), 4.13 inches in Pyinoolwin, 3.30 inches in Madaya, 3.27 inches in Mandalay (Chanayethasan), 2.64 inches in Amarapura, 2.58 inches in Patheingyi, 2.56 inches in Monywa, 2.28 inches in Sagaing, 2.24 inches in Mandalay (Aungmyathasan), 2.13 inches in Patheingyi(Shwesaryan) and 1.77 inches in Myitnge.

BAYINFERENCE: Southwest monsoon has advanced into the Central Myanmar areas and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea, South Bay, Eastcentral and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd May 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway,  Upper Sagaing Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Rakhine, Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Mandalay, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Southern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of thundery activities in the Northern Myanmar areas.
