SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been farily widespread in Kayah, Chin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States and regionally heavyfalls in Magway Region and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State. Day temperatures were 2°C above May average temperature in Kayin State and 2°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah State, 3°C to 4°C below May average temperatures in Mandalay Region and Chin, (Northern and Southern) Shan States, 5°C to 6°C below May average temperatures in Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 36.2°C in Nyaunglaybin, 35.0°C in Taunggu (Avia-Met), 34.6 °C in Theinzayet, 34.5°C in Taungdwingyi, 34.3°C in Taunggu, 34.2°C each in Pyay, Hpa-an(Agro-Met), Kawkareik and Myawaddy on 26-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.53 inches in Chaungsone, 4.02 inches in Kyeikkhame, 3.58 inches in Myeik, 3.33 inches in Kyaukpadaung, 2.64 inches in Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 2.56 inches in Maubin, 2.44 inches in Hainggyigyun, 2.40 inches each in Mawlamyine and Paung, 2.36 inches in Chauk and 2.32 inches in Sinbyugyun.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th May 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Frequently squalls with rough to vigorous seas will be experience off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 10 - 14 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
