SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kayah, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Chin, Rakhine States. Day temperatures were 2°C above May average temperature in Taninthayi Region and 2°C below May average temperatures in Yangon, Bago Regions and Kachin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States, 3°C to 4°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Chin States, 5°C to 6°C below May average temperatures in Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and about May average temperature in Kayin State. The significant day temperatures were 36.0°C in Nyaunglaybin, 35.0°C in Kawkareik, 34.0°C each in Shwebo and Myeik, 33.4°C in Kyaukse, 33.2°C in Sagaing, 33.0°C each in Kyaukse(Lunkyaw) and Yeu, 32.8°C in Mandalay and 32.5°C each in Tada U(Avia), Kanbalu and Monywa on 28-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.88 inches in Sittwe, 4.13 inches in Homalin, 3.70 inches in Bago, 3.11 inches in Hakha, 2.95 inches each in Khayan and Hkamti, 2.80 inches in Nyaungdon, 2.78 inches in Pantanaw, 2.60 inches in Thaton and 2.56 inches in Wakema.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th May 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Kayah, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Chin, Rakhine States and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon States. THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Frequent squalls with very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 40-45 mph. Wave height will be about 14-16 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Occasional squalls with rough to very rough sea will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 10-14 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
