 24-7-2025: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and further intensify into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal, India and Bangladesh Coasts during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move towards West Bengal and North Odisha Coasts, India during next 48 hours. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon States. Day temperatures were 2°C below May average temperatures in Kayin, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States, 3°C to 4°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago Regions and Chin, Mon, (Northern and Southern) Shan States, 5°C to 6°C below May average temperatures in Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah States and about May average temperature in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions. The significant day temperatures were 35.0°C in Nyaunglaybin, 34.6°C in Kawkareik, 34.0°C in Zalun, 33.8°C in Coco - Island, 33.6°C in Zaung Tu, 33.0°C each in Yangon(Kaba-aye)and Maubin, 32.7°C in Phyarpon and 32.6°C each in Kyaukse, Hinthada and Pathein on 29-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.61 inches in Putao, 3.90 inches in Hkamti, 3.74 inches in Myeik, 3.15 inches in Ye, 2.72 inches in Hpa-an, 2.48 inches in Kyeikkhame, 2.40 inches in Theinzayet, 2.28 inches in Machanbaw, 2.15 inches in Danubyu and 1.97 inches in Phyu.

BAYINFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs M.S.T today, the Depression that crossed to the interior regions of the Northwest of Dhaka (Bangladesh) has moved North- Northeastwards and is continuing to cross. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 31st May 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Kayah, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Frequent squalls with very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 14-16 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-13 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavy rain or thundershowers in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States.
