SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kayah, Rakhine, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon States. Day temperatures were 2°C below May average temperatures in Yangon Region and Kayin, Mon States, 3°C to 4°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Chin, Southern Shan States, 6°C below May average temperature in Magway Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 33.5°C in Kawthaung, 33.2°C in Myingyan, 33.0°C each in Zalun and Myitkyina, 32.9°C in Aunglan, 32.7°C in Nyaung Oo, 32.5°C each in Yangon(Botahtaung), Coco Island and Labutta and 32.4°C in Myinmu on 31-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.87 inches in Paung, 5.04 inches in Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 4.84 inches in Hpa-an, 4.76 inches in Thaton, 3.82 inches in Belin, 3.19 inches in Ye, 3.03 inches in Kawkareik, 2.84 inches in Machanbaw, 2.60 inches in Dawei and 2.44 inches in Hkamti.

BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 2ndJune 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon States. THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Northern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-13 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
