SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw and Kayah State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Magway Regions and Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region and Southern Shan State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.32 inches in Taungtha, 3.31 inches in Taunggyi, 3.19 inches in Thazi, 2.56 inches in Shwebo, 2.44 inches in Theinzayet, 2.32 inches in Dawei, 1.82 inches in Mongyawng, 1.50 inches in Mingin,1.38 inches each in Yeu and Chaungsone and 1.34 inches in Myeik.
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 11th June 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Rakhine, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Southern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, (Northern and Southern) Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 -35 mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about 6-8 feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Rakhine, Mon States.
