SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah, Northern Shan States, scattered in Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 8.66 inches in Hkamti, 5.69 inches in Kyaukpyu, 2.64 inches in Kyeikkhame, 2.56 inches in Okkan, 2.13 inches in Sittwe, 2.10 inches in Kyaiklat, 1.97 inches in Chaungsone, 1.73 inches in Maubin and 1.54 inches each in Ye and Pinlaung.
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
Special Features: According to the observations at 13:30 hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Jharkhand and adjoining West Bengal(India) still persists.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th June 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Shan States.
