SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region and Kayah State, scattered in Magway Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Kachin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.45 inches in Thaton, 4.13 inches in Mudon, 3.82 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 3.66 inches in Mawlamyine, 3.54 inches in Ye, 3.23 inches in Putao, 3.03 inches in Belin, 2.83 inches in Kyaukpyu, 2.64 inches each in Myeik and Kyeikkhame and 2.56 inches in Chaungsone.
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 3rd July 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 11-13 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
