SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions, scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.64 inches in Sittwe, 2.44 inches in Wakema, 2.23 inches in Danubyu, 2.17 inches in Kyonpyaw, 2.14 inches in Pantanaw, 2.12 inches in Kangyidaunt, 2.00 inches in Nyaungdon, 1.97 inches in Homalin, 1.85 inches each in Nyaunglaybin and Zalun and 1.65 inches in Kyaunggon.

BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th July 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions, fairly widespread in Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine, Eastern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 11-13 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 5th July 2025:                             Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is 100%.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, widespread in Yangon Region and scattered in Mandalay Region.
