SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kachin, (Northern and Eastern) Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago, Magway Regions and Kayah, Chin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Kayin State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Bago Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 8.70 inches in Kawkareik, 4.72 inches in Myawaddy, 3.03 inches in Shwekyin, 2.72 inches in Dawei, 2.34 inches in Pindaya, 2.04 inches in Mudon, 2.01 inches in Chaungsone, 1.93 inches in Ye, 1.77 inches in Theinzayet and 1.73 inches in Sittwe.

BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th July 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kayah, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-12 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
