SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region and Chin, Northern Shan States, scattered in Kachin, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and Kayin, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.71 inches in Kawkareik, 3.62 inches in Ye, 2.76 inches each in Paung and Namsan(Southern Shan), 2.70 inches in Nyaungdon, 2.36 inches in Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 2.32 inches in Hpa-an, 2.25 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 2.09 inches each in Myinmu and Mudon, 2.05 inches in Myawaddy and 1.97 inches in Dawei.
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 31st July 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-11 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
