BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
Special Features: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Severe Troipical Storm “Kajiki” over the South China Sea has further intensified into a Typhoon “Kajiki” last night and has continue to move Westwards. It is likely to cross Upper Vietnam and Upper Laos on 25-8-2025. FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 24th August 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Kayah, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States.
