BAYINFERENCE: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal (off Odisha Coast, India) still persists. It is likely to move West–Northwestwards and further intensify. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
Special Features: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Tropical Depression over the border regions of Laos and Thailand has downgraded into a Low Pressre Cell and has crossed over Northern Thailand.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 27th August 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Magway Regions and Kayin, Mon, Shan States and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah State. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.
