SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region and Kayah, Northern Shan States, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.19 inches in Sagaing, 2.77 inches in Ngazun, 2.60 inches in Tada U(Avia-Met), 2.29 inches in Kawthaung, 1.69 inches in Coco Island, 1.65 inches in Paung, 1.58 inches in Myeik, 1.47 inches in Ye, 1.34 inches in Labutta and 1.18 inches in Myitnge.
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
Special Features: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over the Thailand has moved westwards and downgraded into a Low Pressure Cell over the Northern part of Thailand.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 1st September 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar water. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast and 6-8 feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.
