SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Northern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayah, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States, scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Lower Sagaing Regions and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.67 inches in Chaungsone, 3.15 inches in Kyeikkhame, 3.12 inches in Putao, 2.76 inches in Mawlamyingyun, 2.60 inches in Pantanaw, 2.40 inches in Myitnge, 2.32 inches in Taungdwingyi, 2.21 inches in Kawthaung, 2.16 inches in Myeik and 2.01 inches in Kawkareik.
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th September 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated Kayah, Rakhine States, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regins and Chin, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing Yangon, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.
