SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Magway Region and Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region and Kayin, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State, fairly widespread in Chin, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.86 inches in Coco Island, 1.80 inches in Laymyethna, 1.50 inches in Myeik, 1.38 inches in Mogaung, 1.22 inches in Putao, 1.10 inches in Naungcho, 1.02 inches in Hkamti, 0.71 inch in Dawei, 0.59 inch in Paungbyin and 0.55 inch each in Bogale and Kawthaung.
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Tropical Depression has crossed Northern Philippines moved Northwestwards and continue to crossing. It is likely continue to moved Northwestwards and intensify into a Tropical Storm next during 24 hours.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th September 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Region and Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
