BAYINFERENCE: Southwest monsoon has been withdrawn from the Northern Myanmar areas. According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Northeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards during next 24 hours. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, a Typhoon “RAGASA” over Philippines sea has moved Westwards and crossing over the Northern Philippines Islands. It is likely continue to move Westwards and reach to South China Sea during next 24 hrs.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd September 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Chin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin, Rakhine, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.
