SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayah, Northern Shan State, scattered in Yangon, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.09 inches in Taungdwingyi, 3.35 inches in Thayet, 3.03 inches in Meiktila, 2.91 inches in Laiway, 2.84 inches in Magway, 2.80 inches in Myeik, 2.76 inches in Myanaung, 2.52 inches in Naypyitaw(Ottarathiri), 2.44 inches in Kyaukpadaung and 2.29 inches in Pyinmana(Walgyi).
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
Special Features: According to the observations at 10:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Cell over the boundary areas of Laos and Myanmar and has moved Westwards and downgraded into a wind wave over Shan, Kayah States, Myanmar. It is forecast likely continue to move West-Northwestwards over Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions, Myanmar during next 12 hrs.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 1st October 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kachin, Kayah, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.
