SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Magway Region and Rakhine, Northern Shan States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Chin, Eastern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, fairly widespread in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.72 inches Belin, 2.44 inches in Ye, 2.01 inches in Khayan, 1.90 inches in Bogale, 1.38 inches in Putao, 1.20 inches in Mawkmai, 1.16 inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, 1.06 inches in Kyeikkhame, 0.98 inch in Loilin and 0.83 inch in Myeik.
BAYINFERENCE Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Typhoon “MATMO” over the South China sea has moving Northwestwards and it is centered at about 30 Nautical miles Southeast of Zhanjiang(China). It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may cross close to Zhanjiang of Guangdong, Southern China during next 3 hours. It is likely to downgrade into a Severe Tropical Storm during next 24 hours and may continue cross Coastal areas of Guangxi.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 6th October 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Rakhine, Northern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Eastern Shan State and fairly widespread in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Shan State.
