SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Southwest monsoon has been withdrawn from the Northern Myanmar areas. Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Sagaing, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin State, fairly widespread in Shan, Rakhine and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Magway, Bago and Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Launglon (6.34)inches, Shwekyin (3.23)inches, Madauk (2.76)inches, Dawei (2.60)inches, Yangon(North Dagaon) and Hainggyigyun (2.56)inches each, Payathonsu (2.42)inches, Kawthaung (2.20)inches, Kataingti (2.00) inches, Mindat (1.81)inches, Central Yanogn (1.74)inches, Sinpyugyun (1.65)inches, Taunggyi (1.46) inches and Naypyitaw (Zayarthiri) (1.38)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th September, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin, (Northern and Eastern) Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon Region, Southern Shan, Rakhine and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Magway, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Chin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (3 -6)feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Mon State.
