SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather have been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan and Kayah States, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Sagaing Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Rakhine States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Magway Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Pauk (4.72)inches, Okkan and Myeik (1.57)inches each, Kawthaung (1.50)inches, Taunggu (1.30)inches, Kyeikkhame (1.26)inches and Hlaingbwe (1.18)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th September, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw,Mandalay and Magway Regions and Chin state and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (3 -6)feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.
