SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw and Kayin State, scattered in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Southern Shan and Mon States, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Chin and Rakhine States and isolated heavy falls in Magway Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Maungdaw (8.42)inches, Kyauktaw (7.36)inches, Myauk U (5.00)inches, Paletwa (4.80)inches, Matupi (3.31) inches, Mogoke (1.97)inches, Falam (1.85)inches, Mindat (1.81)inches, Kyaukhtu (1.75)inches and Sittwe (1.58)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over land(India) now lies over West Bengal(India) and adjoining Bangladesh and North Bay of Bengal still persists. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the North and South Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 14th October, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, (Eastern and Southern)Shan, Rakhine and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Magway Region, Chin and Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6 - 9) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and about (4-5)feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of likelihood of decrease of rain in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions.
