17-11-2025:  According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal(off Sri Lanka Coast) has reached over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka Coast. It is likely to move slowly West-Northwestwards during the next 24 hours.. Weather a few cloud over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 20th October, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Bago and Yangon Regions and Kayah State, scattered in  Ayeyarwady Region and isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State with isolated heavy falls in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts.Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts.and about (2.-5) feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Yangon, Ayeyarwady  and Taninthayi Regions, Southern Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States.
