According to the observations at 10:30 hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal(off Odisha coasts) reached to Northwest Bay of Bengal(West Bengal, India- Bangladesh Coasts) and further intensified into a Depression. It is centered at about 255 Nautical miles West-Northwest of Sittwe (Myanmar), 60 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Sargar Island, 70 Nautical miles Southeast of Degha(India), 125 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh). The centre pressure of Depression is (988) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour.
It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Depression is coded as yellow stage.
Forecast
It is likely to move nearly Northwards, intensify further into a Deep Depression and cross West Bengal, India- Bangladesh Coasts between Sargar Island and Khepupara during next 12 hours.
Due to the Depression, rain or thundershowers are likely to be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls during today noon to 2-6-2025.
Frequent squalls with very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 40-45 mph. Wave height will be about 14-16 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Occasional squalls with rough to very rough sea will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 10-14 feet in elsewhere in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

People should be awared the natural disasters such as the heavy rainfall with strong wind, thunder, Lightning strike, lightning, hails, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and inland water transport and domestic flight.
