29-10-2025:According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “MONTHA” over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards and crossed Andhra Pradesh Coast, near South Kakinada, India. It is likely continue to move Northwestwards and downgrade into a Cyclonic Storm during next 6 hours and gradually weaken into a Depression during next 12 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the Northeast Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (18:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Eastcentral Bay and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is forecast to intensify further into a depression during next (48)hours.Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st October, 2016: Weather is partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Coastal areas.
