 24-7-2025: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and further intensify into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal, India and Bangladesh Coasts during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move towards West Bengal and North Odisha Coasts, India during next 48 hours. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Depression

According to the observations at (06:00)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over  Northwest Bay has moved to East-Northeast wards and reached over North Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about (150)miles Southwest of Chittagong(Bangladesh), (80)miles South - Southwest of Khepupara(Bangladesh) and (165)miles West- Northwest of Sittwe(Myanmar). It is forecast to move Northeast wards and likely to cross Chittgong Coast (Bangladesh) during next (12)hrs.

The present stage of the depression is coded orange stage. As the depression may cross Chittagong Coasts (Bangladesh), the Northern Coasts of Rakhine and Chin States are dangerous affected due to banding feature the depression, people should beware of condition in that place.

Position of depression, Center pressure and wind

Depression is located at Latitude (20.5) degree North and Longitude (90.0) degree East, Centre pressure of depression is (1004) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is about (30)miles per hour at (06:00) hrs MST today.

General caution

Under the influence of the depression, rain or thundershowers are likely to be scattered to fairly widespread with isolated heavy falls in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin, Chin and Northern Rakhine States during (7.11.2016) to (8.11.2016).

Under the influence of the depression, Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) to (40)m.p.h. 

Advisory

Under the influence of the depression, strong wind, heavy fall and landslide may occur during this time. Advisory for people living near high land areas care to stay to avoid from landslide danger. Vessels and ships off and along Rakhine Coasts are advised especially to avert in this condition.
