SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Rakhine State, scattered in Naypyitaw, farily widespread in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Southern Shan State. Day temperatures were 4°C above May average temperature in Kayin State and 2°C below May average temperatures in Mandalay Region and Chin, Eastern Shan States, 4°C below May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 39.5°C in Nyaunglaybin, 39.4°C in Chauk, 38.0°C in Magway, 37.6°C in Minbu, 37.3°C each in Myingyan and Sinbyugyun, 37.2°C in Nyaung Oo, 37.1°C in Kawkareik, 37.0°C in Pakokku and 36.8°C in Hpa-an(Agro-Met) on 24-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.35 inches in Taunggyi, 3.11 inches in Mingin, 2.91 inches in Coco Island, 2.44 inches in Myawaddy, 2.36 inches in Gangaw, 2.32 inches in Hakha, 2.28 inches in Mong Khat, 2.16 inches in Amarapura, 2.01 inches in Monywa and 1.97 inches in Nyaung Shwe.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th May 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Magway Regions and Chin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan State. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experience in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Yangon, Bago, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
