2-9-2025: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs M.S.T today, the Low Pressure Area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely  to further intensify during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it  is likely  to move  west-northwestwards and cross Odisha, India, during next 48 hours. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Rakhine State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Sagaing Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin States and widespread in remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Kayin State and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Upper Sagaing Regions and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 6.49 inches in Thaton, 4.84 inches in Hkamti, 3.78 inches in Hpa-an, 3.58 inches in Paung, 3.55 inches in Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 2.28 inches each in Nyaunglaybin and Mawlamyine, 2.20 inches in Mandalay(Aungmyaythasan), 2.10 inches in Mongpan, 1.93 inches in Bago and 1.85 inches in Shwekyin.

BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 7th August 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region and Kayah, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Mandalay, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Shan States.
