BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, yesterday’s the Tropical Depression has crossed Northern Philippines moved West-Northwestwards and reached South China Sea. It is likely continue to moved Northwestwards and intensify into a Tropical Storm next during 12 hours.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 18th September 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago Regions and Kayin,Chin, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing  Region and Mon, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing Yangon, Upper Sagaing  Regions and Southern Shan State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas  are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
