24-5-2024:According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, a depression over Central Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northeastwards and now lies over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about (275) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Coco Island, (310) Nautical miles West of Hainggyigyun, (340) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Thandwe (Myanmar), (370) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh), (350) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Sagar Island and (380) Nautical miles South of Canning (West Bangal, India). Monsoon is strong  over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay. Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Kachin, Northern Shan, Rakhine and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Bago Regions and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Hinthada (2.24)inches, Yangon(Kaba-Aye) (1.85)inches, Okkan and Myeik (1.77)inches each, Hmawbi and Myaungmya (1.62)inches each, Machanbaw (1.54)inches and Maubin (1.50)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st September, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Sagaing and Magway Regions, Kachin and (Northern and Eastern)Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Bago Regions, Southern Shan, Chin, Rakhine and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4–7) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of thundery activities in Central Myanmar areas.
