(18.9.2019): Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (09:30) hrs MST today,  Monsoon is strong to vigorus over the Andaman sea and Bay of Bengal due to the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay and the tropical storm " Kajiki " crossing over the Vietnam coast.

Due to the strong to vigorus monsoon, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with regionally and isolated heavy falls and strong wind within 72 hours commencing morning today.

Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9-13) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

General Caution

Due to the strong wind and heavy rainfalls, people should be awared of flash flood and landslide near the hilly areas and also small rivers.
