SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Southwest monsoon has been withdrawn from the whole country. Weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, Northern Shan, Kayah and Mon States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Bago and Yangon Regions, Southern Shan and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (1.77) inches each in Hkamti and Myeik, (1.06) inches in Gangaw, (1.02) inches in Kawthaung, (0.95) inch in Coco Island, (0.91) inch in Kyaukpyu and (0.82) inch each in Hakha and Paletwa.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th October, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region, Kachin, Eastern Shan and Chin States, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Yangon and Bago Regions, Southern Shan, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State.
