26-5-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “REMAL” over North Bay of Bengal has moved nearly Northwards and centered at about (175) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Maungdaw, (210) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Sittwe, (250) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Kyaukpyu, (Myanmar), (110) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Khepupara, (130) Nautical miles South of Mongla, (Bangladesh), (100) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Sagar Island, (120) Nautical miles Southeast of Digha and (120) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Canning (West Bangal, India). Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong to vigorous over the Eastcentral Bay. Weather is cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Flood condition of ThaungyinRiver

      According to the (10:30) hrs M.S.T observation today, the water level of Thaungyin River at Myawaddy has exceeded by about (1½) feet above its danger level. It may continue to rise from the present water level by about (2) feet during the next (1) day and may remain above its danger level.

Advisory

       It is especially advised to the people who settle near the river banks and low lying areas in Myawaddy Township, to take precaution measure.
