 24-7-2025: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and further intensify into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal, India and Bangladesh Coasts during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move towards West Bengal and adjoining North Odisha Coasts, India during next 36 hours. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Depression

According to the observations at (15:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Depressionover Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal and North Odisha coasts has moved West-Northwestwards and crossed to West Bengal and North Odisha coasts near Digha, India. It is likely continue to move West-Northwestwards and as a land depression over West Bengal and interior Odisha.

General caution

Due to the depression, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread inMagway,Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine State with likelihood of isolated heavy falls from today evening to next (24) hrs. Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40) mph. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.

Due to the depression, people should be aware strong wind with regionally heavyfalls and isolated heavyfallsand domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in Deltaic, off and along RakhineCoast.
