SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region (Southern and Eastern)Shan State, scattered in Kayah State, isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (1.94) inches in Rambree, (1.93) inches in Dawei, (1.61) inches in Namsam, (1.50) inches in Myeik, (1.38) inches in Laydatpyin, (0.79) inch in Kyangin(Seiktha), (0.39) inches each in Minesat and Mongyang and (0.20) inch each in Loilin, Manaung.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Tropical Storm “Sanba” over the Gulf of Tonkin is likely forecast continue to move Northwards.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th October 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather has been partly cloudy the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4-7) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
