8-9-2024:: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Westcentral Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 370 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Sittwe, 440 Nautical miles West of Thandwe (Myanmar), 145 Nautical miles East of Kalingapatnam(India), 105 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Gopalpur, 100 Nautical miles South of Paradip and 190 Nautical miles South-Southwest of Digha. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

1. During the period of May, isolated rain or thundershowers are likely in the afternoon or evening accompanied with strong wind, hails, thunderstorms and lightning due to the unstable air conditions and convective cloud by gradually rising day temperatures in the whole country. Surface wind speed in strong wind may reach (35)mph to (40)mph.

2. Public is advised to take necessary awareness with the Weather events during the period of May.
