9-1-2026: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about 835 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island (Myanmar), 115 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka) and 340 Nautical miles Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka). It is likely to move Northwestwards and may cross North Sri Lanka coast between Trincomalee and Jaffna during next 18 hours.Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

According to the (08:30) hrs M.S.T observation today, the water level of Thaungyin River at Myawaddy has exceeded by about (6) feet above its danger level. It may fall below its danger level during the next (2)days.

Advisory

It is especially advised to the people who settle near the river banks and low lying areas in Myawaddy Township, to take precaution measure.
