8-9-2024:: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Westcentral Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 370 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Sittwe, 440 Nautical miles West  of  Thandwe (Myanmar), 145 Nautical miles East of Kalingapatnam(India), 105 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Gopalpur, 100 Nautical miles South of Paradip and 190 Nautical miles South-Southwest of Digha. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Bay of Bengal Condition

Two low pressure areas may form over the Bay of Bengal and one may further intensify into a depression. During this period, monsoon will be moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Rain Condition and Rainy Days

Rain or thundershowers are likely about normal in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.

Rainy days are expected about (23) to (29) days in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States, about (16) to (22) days in Naypyitaw, (Northern and Eastern) Shan, Chin, Kayah States and about (9) to (15) days in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions.
