SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershower have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Southern Shan State, scattered in Kachin, Kayin, Eastern Shan States and isolated in Yangon Region and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Weather has been generally fair in Chin State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C to 4°C above April average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Eastern Shan State, 2°C above April average temperatures in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Southern Shan States and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 44.5°C in Chauk, 43.0°C each in Taungdwingyi and Myinmu, 42.8°C in Gangaw, 42.5°C in Magway, 42.4°C in Minbu, 42.3°C each in Yamethin and Aunglan, 42.1°C in Tada U(Aviation-Met) and 42.0°C each in Taunggu, Pakokku and Monywa on 27-4-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.19 inches in Myeik, 1.65 inches in Kawthaung, 0.84 inch in Tachileik, 0.80 inch in Mongpan, 0.63 inch in Loilin, 0.60 inch in Panglong, 0.59 inch in Heho, 0.55 inch in Ye, 0.51 inch in Mongyawng, 0.40 inch in Mawkmai, 0.28 inch each in Dawei and Myawaddy and 0.20 inch in Yangon(Botahtaung).

BAYINFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th April 2025: Rain or thundershower will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayah States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is 80%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Southern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Rain or thundershower will be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Shan States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 29th April 2025:      Partly cloudy and likelihood of isolated light rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is 60%.
