SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather have been partly cloudy in Magway Region and Chin State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Rakhine State, scattered in Bago Region and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan State, widespread in Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region. Day temperatures were 2°C below May average temperatures in Yangon Region and Kachin, Kayah, Chin States, 3°C to 4°C below May average temperatures in Mandalay, Bago, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Southern Shan State, 5°C to 6°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 39.0°C in Nyaunglaybin, 38.0°C in Belin, 37.9°C each in Myinmu and Kawkareik, 37.6°C in Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 37.0°C each in Hpa-an and Theinzayet, 36.6°C in Chauk, 36.2°C in Shwekyin and 36.0°C in Kawthaung on 3-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.91 inches in Pyinoolwin, 2.59 inches in Patheingyi, 1.99 inches in Patheingyi(Shwesayan), 1.93 inches in Pyinoolwin(Zeepyingyi), 1.77 inches in Naypyitaw(Dekkhinathiri), 1.10 inches in Hinthada, 0.94 inch each in Zalun and Paung, 0.92 inch in Kangyidaunt and 0.79 inch each in Mandalay and Phyu.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th May 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Kayin, Mon States, scattered in Yangon, Mandalay, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-8 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon States.
