SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Mandalay Region and Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and isolated in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Eastern Shan States and 2°C above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin, Rakhine, Southern Shan States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 45.3°C in Chauk, 43.1°C in Zaung Tu, 43.0°C in Myingyan, 42.5°C each in Magway and Myinmu, 42.0°C in Monywa, 41.2°C each in Nyaung Oo and Minbu and 41.0°C each in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), Pakokku, Gangaw and Shwebo on 10-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.85 inches in Mandalay(Chanayethasan), 1.22 inches in Kyaukse(Lunkyaw), 0.91 inch in Dawei, 0.83 inch in Myitnge, 0.63 inch in Kyaukse, 0.59 inch in Mandalay(Chanmyathazi), 0.32 inch each in Phyarpon and Thazi and 0.30 inch in Dedaye.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 12th May 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Mon, Southern Shan States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Kachin, Kayah, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7 - 9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
