SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Yangon, Sagaing Regions and Kayin Statae. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Kachin, Eastern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Rakhine, Northern Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States and isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Day temperatures were 4°C above May average temperature in Kachin State and 2°C below May average temperatures in Yangon, Magway Regions, 3°C below May average temperature in Chin State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 40.3°C in Chauk, 40.0°C in Nyaunglaybin, 39.2°C in Kyaukse(Lunkyaw), 39.1°C in Zaung Tu, 38.7°C in  Kalewa, 38.4°C in  Myinmu, 38.3°C in Tatkon and 38.2°C each in Myingyan, Magway and Kawkareik on 12-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.06 inches in Dawei, 1.21 inches in Mong Kung, 1.14 inches in Pinlaung, 1.06 inches in Myeik, 0.94 inch in Sittwe, 0.67 inch in Tachileik, 0.60 inch in Ngapudaw, 0.59 inch in Muse, 0.58 inch in Mawkmai and 0.51 inch each in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri) and Kawthaung.

BAYINFERENCE: Southwest monsoon has advanced into the Southern Myanmar areas, Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Southwest Bay and partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 14th May 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be widespresd in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Mon, Shan States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin State and scattered in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Southern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7 - 9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5 - 7 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.
