SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Chin State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Rakhine State, scattered in Yangon, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States and regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions. Day temperatures were 2°C below May average temperatures in Kachin, Southern Shan States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 40.6°C in Chauk, 39.7°C in Myingyan, 39.2°C in Kalewa, 39.0°C each in Tatkon, Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri) and Aunglan, 38.8°C in Minbu and 38.7°C each in Taunggu(Avia-Met), Magway and Sinbyugyun on 13-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 8.66 inches in Pyinmana(Walgyi), 5.51 inches in Pyinmana, 3.82 inches in Yamethin, 3.42 inches in Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri), 2.75 inches in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), 2.68 inches in Laiway, 2.44 inches in Madaya, 2.28 inches in Mudon, 2.05 inches in Taunggu(Avia-Met) and 1.97 inches in Phyu.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 15th May 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Chin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7 - 9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
