SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine, Northern Shan States, scattered in Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Chin, Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago Regions and Kachin, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw. Day temperatures were 4°C above May average temperature in Kayin State, 2°C above May average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Mon, Eastern Shan States and 2°C below May average temperature in Lower Sagaing Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 40.9°C in Chauk, 38.7°C in Nyaunglaybin, 38.5°C in Kawkareik, 38.0°C each in Nyaung Oo and Pakokku, 37.9°C in Myingyan, 37.6°C each in Aunglan and Sinbyugyun, 37.1°C in Magway and 36.7°C in Hpa-an on 19-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.81 inches in Gyobingauk, 1.77 inches in Okkan, 1.61 inches in Naypyitaw (Zayarthiri), 1.54 inches in Thaton, 1.35 inches in Danubyu, 1.32 inches in Mawkmai, 1.30 inches in Kalewa, 1.06 inches in Kyeikkhame, 1.02 inches in Monyin and 1.00 inches in Mongyawng.

BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st May 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions, scattered in Mandalay Region and Kayah, Chin, Rakhine States and fairly widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of advancement of southwest monsoon into the Central Myanmar areas.
