SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Chin State, scattered in Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, (Northern and Southern)Shan States, farily widespread in Mandalay Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay Regions. Day temperatures were 3°C above May average temperature in Kayin State, 2°C above May average temperatures in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 39.5°C in Nyaunglaybin, 39.3°C in Chauk, 38.7°C in Myinmu, 38.5°C in Myingyan, 38.4°C in Aunglan, 38.1°C in Kawkareik, 38.0°C in Pakokku, 37.8°C each in Nyaung Oo and Magway and 37.4°C in Minbu on 23-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.72 inches in Coco-Island, 2.85 inches in Panglong, 2.71 inches in Tachileik, 2.64 inches in Kengtung, 2.60 inches in Yangon(Mingaladon), 2.56 inches in Monghpyak, 2.32 inches in Mong Khat, 2.28 inches in Myitnge, 2.24 inches in Wakema and 2.20 inches in Theinzayet.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th May 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Bago, Magway Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Shan States. THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin, (Northern and Southern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7 - 9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Incerase of rain in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
