29-6-2025:  According to the observations at 17:30 hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal, India and Bangladesh coasts still persists. It is likely to move slowly West-Northwestwards across North Odisha and West Bengal, India. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Kachin, Chin States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State. Day temperatures were 2°C below May average temperatures in Kayah, (Northern and Southern)Shan States, 3°C to 4°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Eastern Shan States, 5°C to 6°C below May average temperatures in Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and Chin State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 33.5°C in Zalun, 33.0°C each in Yangon(Kaba-Aye), Coco Island and Kyaukse(Lunkyaw), 32.8°C in Tada-U(Avia-Met), 32.7°C each in Yangon(Mingaladon) and Mandalay, 32.6°C in Myawaddy and 32.5°C each in Yeu, Maubin and Labutta on 30-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.71 inches in Belin, 4.29 inches in Nyaunglaybin, 4.17 inches in Hkamti, 3.82 inches in Machanbaw, 3.46 inches each in Putao and Tiddim, 3.43 inches in Shwekyin, 3.22 inches in Danubyu, 2.76 inches in Madauk and 2.60 inches in Hakha.

BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 1st June 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-13 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavy rain or thundershowers in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
